WVU Medicine Internal Medicine provides comprehensive primary care for adults and seniors, with a focus on diseases affecting the heart, blood, kidneys, and joints, as well as the digestive, respiratory, and vascular systems. Our board-certified internal medicine physicians diagnose common or complex issues, and we can help you manage any chronic conditions you’re experiencing.
General internal medicine services range from health screenings, physical exams, and vaccinations to disease management of diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and more. We will help coordinate your medical needs and refer you to specialists when needed.
WVU Medicine offers a 65-Plus Clinic for seniors to help prevent and treat diseases and disability that may occur with aging.
Aging can sometimes bring on increased potential for illness and multiple health issues. With our team approach to senior health, we will work with you and your family members or caregivers to help prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases and possible disability that may occur with aging.
At our 65-Plus Clinic for seniors, we will assess your health and make efforts to maintain your independence and wellness, and also consider the needs of any family members or caregivers in your life. We can help families address any concerns about medical decision-making for senior patients and their ability to live safely.
Your first appointment with a WVU Medicine geriatrics provider may take longer than an hour so that we can perform a specialized geriatrics consultation. We’ll discuss your medical history and your family’s medical history and any current health conditions or challenges. It is beneficial for a family member or caregiver to attend your appointment. Bring a list of all medications, including herbal and over-the-counter medications, to your appointment.
