If your stay with us is scheduled, please stop by the Registration Desk, located on the first floor of J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, when you arrive.
Rosenbaum Family House provides a “home away from home” for patients and families who meet the criteria. The facility is located across the parking lot from J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, next to WVU’s Milan Puskar Stadium. To reach Family House, call 304-598-6094.

Patients and guests can order from the patient menu and have meals delivered to the patient rooms (dial 76368). Note:
- Patients are encouraged to check with their provider or registered dietitian about dietary restrictions before eating any food brought in by visitors.
- Certain tests may require that you not eat for a period of time.
- Guest trays are available for visitors and may be ordered by calling the same number used to order patient meals (76368). A payment of $6.50 is expected at the time of delivery with a debit or credit card. No cash will be accepted.
- The hospital cafeteria is located on the fourth floor of J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. There are also vending machines in this area.
- The Market@HSC, a food court, is located at the WVU Health Sciences Center. Access it by exiting the back doors of J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, on the fourth floor.
Cell phone use
Patients and families can use personal mobile devices in all areas of J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, unless restricted by specific unit policies. It is fine to use phones to photograph the patient and family members; however, taking photographs of other patients, visitors, and staff is strictly prohibited.
Computers, tablets, and smartphones with wireless capability can connect to the internet with FriendsConnect, a free, wireless service provided by Friends of WVU Hospitals. If you have trouble with your internet connection, please call the WVU Medicine Help Desk at 304-598-4357. This number is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Interpretation and TDD services
Interpretation services for patients who do not speak English (or who speak limited English) are provided. In addition, auxiliary aids and services are provided for patients with communication disabilities. Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD) is available free of charge to patients who need this service. To make arrangements for TDD equipment, call the WVU Medicine Help Desk at 304-598-4357.
For the health of our patients, visitors, faculty, and staff, we ask that you please refrain from using tobacco of any form, including e-cigarettes and vapor products, at all WVU Medicine clinics and facilities, including parking lots and garages.
As your health improves, we will work with you and your family to prepare for a safe homecoming. Care Management will arrange and coordinate post-acute needs that may include inpatient rehab, skilled nursing, home care, equipment, and any specialized medications. Nursing will provide you with discharge instructions, discuss any new medications or medication changes, and inform you of follow-up appointments. The WVU Medicine Transition of Care Clinic provides patients with a bridge from J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital to home when additional assistance may be needed. Learn more.
The WVU Medicine Discharge Pharmacy offers in-house delivery to patients and mail delivery to patients’ homes. WVU Medicine also offers prescription services through its Medical Center Pharmacy and Mountaineer Pharmacy. Learn more.
