Research Interests

Stroke is a human killer and a major cause of serious long-term disability. My research interests focus on understanding the pathophysiology of stroke including blood-brain barrier damage, neuronal death, peripheral inflammation, and long-term plasticity processes. In vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro models are integrated in my research toolbox. My long-term goal devotes to finding out the effective treatments for stroke.
Research Topics
  1. Stroke and Immunology
  2. Stroke and mitochondria
  3. Stroke and micoRNAs
  4. Brain repair and functional recovery after stroke
