WVU Medicine welcomes orthopaedic surgeon

RANSON, W.Va. -- WVU Medicine Jefferson Medical Center and University Healthcare Physicians announce the addition of David P. Richards, M.D., F.R.C.S.C. board certified orthopaedic surgeon, to WVU Medicine Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Charles Town.

Dr. Richards received his medical degree from Queen’s University and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at University of Ottawa, both located in Ontario, Canada. He then completed two fellowships in Texas, the first in sports medicine & arthroscopy and Plano Orthopedics & Sports Medicine and the second in shoulder arthroscopy at The San Antonio Orthopaedic Group with Stephen Burkhart, M.D.

A member of the Jefferson Medical Center medical staff, Richards brings over 16 years of practice experience to WVU Medicine specializing in arthroscopy, arthroscopic reconstructions of the shoulder and knee, and sports medicine. He joins G. Bradford Wright, M.D., and Craig Clark, M.D., both board certified orthopaedic surgeons, at the Charles Town practice.
