WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital adds orthopedics clinic

GLEN DALE, W.Va. – WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital has added an Orthopedic Services Practice inside the hospital.

In December 2016, Jonathan D. Lechner, M.D., board-certified orthopedic surgeon, began seeing patients and performing surgeries at both WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial and Wetzel County Hospital. Dr. Lechner specializes in arthritis, bursitis, fracture care, nerve decompression surgery, sprains, spasms, tendonitis, and total hip and knee replacements. He also provides injections in the office.

Michael D. Myers, D.O., a native of Moundsville, joined the orthopedic team at Reynolds in June. Dr. Myers specializes in both general orthopedics and sports medicine. He did his training at Beacon Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Cincinnati, where he was one of the team physicians for the Cincinnati Reds. He was also the team physician for the Wheeling Nailers and West Liberty University Athletics.

Myers sees patients and performs all of his surgeries at Reynolds. He treats fractures, carpal tunnel and trigger finger, muscle tears, arthritis and inflammation, medial and lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) tendon or ligament damage, shin splints, and more. He performs injections for the knee, shoulder, and elbow. Myers explores non-operative treatments, such as injections or physical therapy, before surgical intervention is performed.

Both physicians are accepting new patients. Any previous patient of either doctor can be seen at this new location, as well.

Reynolds Orthopedic Services’ office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital. Lechner has office hours at Wetzel County Hospital from 8:30 a.m. to noon every Monday and Thursday.
