WVU Medicine Infectious Diseases opens at Berkeley Medical Center

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- WVU Medicine recently announced the opening of WVU Medicine Infectious Diseases operated by Berkeley Medical Center.

The practice includes Matthew Simmons, M.D., infectious diseases specialist, and Sarah Cross, P.A.-C., physician assistant. Both are members of the Berkeley Medical Center medical staff. 

Dr. Simmons is a graduate of the WVU School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in infectious diseases. He is board certified in both internal medicine and infectious diseases. Cross is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina, where she did specialized training in infectious diseases medicine.  

Simmons and Cross specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of infectious diseases with specialized knowledge in immunology, epidemiology, and infection control. Specialty services include travel medicine, vaccine clinic, STI testing, lyme disease, Hepatitis C, HIV, Hepatitis B, and PREP (pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV).
