WVU Medicine East welcomes neurosurgeon

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center announces the addition of Mark A. Lyerly, M.D., F.A.A.N.S. to WVU Medicine Brain and Spine in Martinsburg, operated by University Health Associates.

Dr. Lyerly, a board certified neurosurgeon, received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. He completed his residency in neurosurgery at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.

Prior to joining WVU Medicine, Lyerly was in private practice in North Carolina for over 25 years most recently at Neurosurgical Solutions, P.A. in Winston-Salem. During that time, he also served on the medical staff at Novant Forsyth Medical Center.

Lyerly is a fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, an assistant professor for the WVU School of Medicine and a member of the medical staff at Berkeley Medical Center.

His special interests include brain and spinal tumors, complex spine, minimally invasive spine, peripheral nerve disorders, and pain therapies including neuromodulation and intrathecal pumps.
