WVU Medicine Camden Clark teams up with Parkersburg Art Center for Mid-Ohio Valley area high school student art contest and exhibit

Camden Clark Medical Center along with the help of the Parkersburg Art center is turning one long, blank hallway in the hospital into an art gallery! We are seeking student art to hang in the second floor of our South Tower. Art supports health by its ability to reduce stress, heighten mood, and provide a sense of joy. Here is your chance to use your artistic skills to improve your community and the lives of others.

Contest Deadline: March 30, 2019

Cost: There is no fee for entry

Who can enter: Mid-Ohio Valley regional high school students in grades 9-12.

Reward: If selected, your artwork will be professionally framed and hung in the Medical Center for up to one year. You will be honored at a reception and in the press. When the exhibit space transitions, you will receive your framed art!

Contest Theme: The theme is “The Beauty of Nature”...where you go from here is totally up to you!

Type of work: Artwork should be two-dimensional and no larger than 20”x24”.

Submission Process: Email your work to info@parkersburgartcenter.org

Please attach a good quality JPEG, PNG or TIFF image.

In the body of the email include:

  • Your name
  • The title of the artwork
  • The size of the artwork
  • Your email address and phone number
  • School attended and grade

More Info:

-The number of pieces selected for this exhibit will depend on the quality and size of submitted works.

-All works submitted for the competitions must be original works of art. No reproductions of copyrighted or other material will be accepted.

-Artwork needs to be two-dimensional and suitable for framing.

-Submissions may include photography, graphic design, collage, illustrations, printmaking, painting, mixed media and more.

-Each student may submit up to three works for consideration.

-There are no guarantees of exactly how long these pieces will be on display. It is possible that the images could be moved to another location within the hospital.
