Tribute wall to honor the memory of health sciences employees

Dedication scheduled for Wednesday afternoon

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The shared vision of a group of employees becomes reality Wednesday, April 11, with the dedication of a wall memorializing coworkers who have passed away.

Located between WVU Healthcare’s Ruby Memorial Hospital and the WVU Health Sciences Center, the Tribute Wall will feature brass plaques with the names of the departed. Bruce McClymonds, president and CEO of WVU Hospitals, and Christopher Colenda, M.D., M.P.H., Health Sciences chancellor, will lead the 3 p.m. dedication ceremony at the wall, across from the Health Sciences Center cafeteria.

Anyone can order one of the 5-by-8 inch plaques in remembrance of any Health Sciences campus employee, whether employed by WVU Hospitals, WVU Health Sciences, University Health Associates, WVU Foundation  or WVU Research Corporation.

The personalized markers are $250. Brochures and order forms are available at the WVU Healthcare Human Resources office, located on the first floor of Ruby Memorial Hospital. Information can also be found at HSC Human Resources, on the ground floor of the Health Sciences Center.

The first two memorial plaques will be in place for Wednesday’s dedication of the Tribute Wall. In case of rain, the ceremony will be moved to the HSC cafeteria.
