St. Joseph’s Hospital celebrates National Surgical Technologist Week

BUCKHANNON, WV - St. Joseph’s Hospital is recognizing its surgical technologists during National Surgical Technologist Week, September 15 through 21. The week recognizes the hard work of surgical technologists to ensure patient safety and operating efficiency in the operating room.

“Our surgical technologists are the true unsung heroes in the operating room,” Kevin Stingo, RN, Director of Perioperative Services at St. Joseph’s Hospital, said.

National Surgical Technologist Week began by a resolution adopted by the AST Board of Directors in 1984 and is designated by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) to celebrate and honor the profession.
