Shoulder injuries topic of community program

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center and the WVU Health Sciences Center Eastern Campus will sponsor a community mini-medical school program on shoulder injuries and treatment titled Ouch My Aching Shoulder.

The seminar will be held on September 17 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Health Sciences Center on the Berkeley Medical Center campus. David Richards, M.D., F.R.C.F.C., board certified orthopaedic surgeon, will talk about the common causes of shoulder pain.

Dr. Richards joined WVU Medicine in July specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and arthroscopic reconstructions of the shoulder and knee. He is an assistant professor for the WVU School of Medicine and practices at WVU Medicine Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Charles Town.

Registration for the mini-medical school program will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the presentation to follow at 7 p.m. The mini-medical school program is being offered free to the public as a community service of WVU Medicine and the WVU Health Sciences Center Eastern Campus.
