New providers – September 2019

The following providers joined WVU Medicine in September:

HEART AND VASCULAR INSTITUTE

Douglas Powell, MD, has joined the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute as a cardiac critical care medicine physician. Dr. Powell was a staff intensivist at Womack Army Medical Center and a prolonged field consultant, US Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He also served as battalion surgeon, 4th Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Bragg. 

NEPHROLOGY

Vishy Chaudhary, MD, has joined the WVU Medicine Nephrology solid organ transplant program. Dr. Chaudhary completed a nephrology transplant fellowship at Mayo Clinic and a nephrology fellowship at the University of Texas at Galveston.  

ORTHOPAEDICS

Richard Harris, DPM, has joined WVU Medicine Podiatry at the WVU Medicine Waynesburg clinic. Dr. Harris was formerly employed at Podiatry Associates of Indiana. 

PATHOLOGY

Md. Shahrier Amin, MD, has joined WVU Medicine Pathology. Dr. Amin is a pathologist who previously worked with Arkana Labs in Little Rock, Arkansas. He completed a renal pathology fellowship and a cardiovascular pathology fellowship at Mayo Clinic.

PEDIATRICS

Adriana Diakiw, MD, has joined WVU Medicine Children’s general pediatric practice. Dr. Diakiw previously practiced at Shelter Island Pediatrics in San Diego, California. She completed a general pediatrics residency at the University of California, San Diego.
