MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Michael Late Benedum Chapter (MLBC) of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL) held its Fifth Annual Spring Charity Golf Event benefiting WVU Children’s Hospital on May 9 at Stonewall Resort.
A total of 136 MLBC members and guests came out to show their support of the chapter and the hospital. Through the generosity of the members and member companies who sponsored the event, the MLBC made a donation of $30,000 to WVU Children’s Hospital.
“The MLBC is fortunate to have such a generous and caring membership to make this donation possible,” Richard Robb, current MLBC president, said.
The donation will be allocated to WVU Children’s Hospital’s new building fund and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Monies donated to the NICU will be used to purchase isolette covers, informational packets for families who have babies in the NICU, books for a lending library, family support meetings and family meals.
“We appreciate the continued support of the MLBC. With their help, we are able to care for the tiniest patients in our hospital and support the families of those patients during one of the most difficult times of their lives,” Cheryl Jones, R.N., director of WVU Children’s Hospital, said. “We look forward to extending our partnership with the MLBC long into the future.”
The MLBC is the Bridgeport-based chapter of the American Association of Professional Landmen, an international organization with members throughout the United States and Canada. Its purpose is to represent men and women engaged in all forms of land matters within the oil, gas and mineral industries. Particular emphasis is placed on ethics, education and public involvement.
