MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Chestnut Ridge Center at WVU Healthcare is seeking applications for its annual Grassroots Grants Program, which provides seed money for community projects relating to mental health, mental illness, substance abuse and dependence or family preservation.
Grants of up to $1,000 each are open to any non-profit organization or group in West Virginia. Last year, grants were distributed to the WVU Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry, the Health Sciences and Technology Academy, Northern West Virginia County for Independent Living, West Virginia Senior Legal Aide, In Touch and Concerned, Mental Health America, Upshur Cooperative Parish c/o Hall Neighborhood House, On Eagle’s Wings Therapeutic Riding Center, Family Leadership First, Alzheimer’s Association of West Virginia and Milan Puskar Health Right.

Chestnut Ridge Center is a 70-bed psychiatric and chemical dependency facility staffed by WVU psychiatrists, psychologists and other professionals. It offers comprehensive residential, inpatient, partial hospitalization, outpatient and consultation services to adults, adolescents and children suffering from various psychiatric disorders.
