Cardiologist joins WVU Heart and Vascular in Eastern Panhandle

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- The WVU Heart and Vascular Institute in Martinsburg welcomes S. Sree Hari Kesan, M.D., to the cardiology practice.

Dr. Kesan, a board-certified cardiologist, is a graduate of the University of Madras – Madras Medical College in India. He completed a fellowship in cardiology and electrophysiology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock and a fellowship in electrophysiology at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis.  

Electrophysiology is a subspecialty of cardiology that focuses on the heart's electrical system and heart rhythm. Abnormalities in a person's heartbeat can be a symptom of a serious condition. Treatments include prescribing medication and performing procedures, including pacemaker implantation and other devices. 

A WVU Medicine, Kesan specializes in electrophysiology or rhythm management. He is a member of the medical staffs at both Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg and Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson.
