Family-Centered Maternity Care at GRMC

Our maternity suite features five private LDRP rooms (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum), allowing you to stay in one spacious, suite-style room throughout your entire birth experience. Each room is thoughtfully designed for efficiency, safety, and comfort, creating a calming environment for both mom and baby.

We also offer four additional private patient rooms and a fully equipped nursery for infants who may need special medical attention. These modern features make it possible for mother and newborn to remain together as much as possible, promoting bonding from the very beginning.

Family and loved ones are welcome to share in this special time. Our rooms include space for support persons to be present, so you can celebrate your growing family in a warm, supportive setting.

At GRMC, our maternity team includes highly skilled physicians from Cornerstone Family Medicine and Wellspring Family Medicine who specialize in labor, delivery, and newborn care. They work closely with our nationally certified nurses to provide personalized, evidence-based care, ensuring both mom and baby receive the safest and most compassionate support throughout the birth experience.

We offer birthing tools and comfort measures like birthing balls, fans, and dimmable lighting, along with flexible monitoring options including wireless and intermittent fetal monitoring to support your personalized birth plan.

Together From the Very First Moment

We prioritize early bonding with Golden Hour skin-to-skin contact after both vaginal and cesarean births whenever possible. Delayed cord clamping supports your baby’s healthiest start, and we provide overnight accommodations and meals for your support person so your family can stay close and connected.

Our maternity unit is secured 24/7 with limited access to ensure a safe environment for you and your newborn. Identification bands are placed at birth, and infants receive security bands equipped with exit and tamper alarms—providing an added layer of protection and peace of mind for your family.

At GRMC, your care is personalized to meet your needs and preferences. Choose from a variety of pain management options—including medications, epidurals, nitrous oxide, and natural comfort measures—while our experienced, nationally certified nurses guide you through labor, postpartum, newborn care, and breastfeeding. We provide lactation support from birth through discharge, with referrals to community resources when needed, all grounded in evidence-based practices that follow nationally recommended protocols.
