Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists at Jackson General Hospital are skilled professionals who work with people of all ages to develop the necessary skills to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

Our occupational therapists treat people with disabilities following work-related injuries, stress or sports injuries, stroke, amputation, or other health issues.

The therapist evaluates each patient’s condition and needs, then develops a treatment plan with specific goals to enable them to resume their daily activities.

Some of the goals of occupational therapy include:

  • Improve range of motion and fine motor skills
  • Better performance of daily activities
  • Regain strength and flexibility

In addition to physical or neurological problems, our occupational therapists can help people with balance and equilibrium difficulties. We can also recommend and train people in the use of adaptive equipment.
