Cardiopulmonary Services

The Cardiopulmonary Department at Harrison Community Hospital provides therapeutic and diagnostic services for patients of all ages experiencing heart and lung disorders, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care.

Our highly-trained cardiopulmonary therapists treat a variety of conditions affecting the heart and lungs including:

  • Asthma
  • Bronchitis
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Dysrhythmias
  • Hypoxemia
  • Inhalation injuries
  • Myocardial infarction
  • Pneumonia
  • Pre- and post-operative care
  • Respiratory failure

Outpatient diagnostic testing is provided between 7 am and 3 pm. All patients must have a written order from their physician including the type of testing/therapy to be given.

Harrison Community Hospital offers a wide range of cardiopulmonary treatments including:

  • Aerosol therapy including continuous bronchodilator nebulizer therapy
  • Cardiac Holter Monitors up to five days
  • Chest physiotherapy
  • Sputum inductions

The department currently has adult ventilators and transport ventilators available for use, and we also assist patients with home respiratory medical equipment when ordered by your physician. Patient education is provided in all aspects of care including metered dose inhalers, tobacco cessation, and incentive spirometers.
