What is Title IX?
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, a federal civil rights law, states:

What Does Title IX Do?
Prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in all federally funded education programs and activities. Sex discrimination includes:

- Sexual Violence
Why is WVU Hospitals covered by Title IX?
WVUH has federally funded educational programs and is covered by Title IX.
Title IX covers “all of the operations” of a healthcare corporation having an “education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” All employees and all students are covered.
