Ruodi Ren, PharmD:

  • Where are you from?
    • I was originally from Beijing, China. I came to the U.S. to study for my graduate degree in 2014.
  • Where did you complete your education?
    • I completed my master’s degree in pharmacology at University of Minnesota. I finished my Doctorate of Pharmacy degree at University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy.
  • What are some of your areas of interest?
    • I am most interested in infection disease, pediatrics, transplant, and out-patient MTM.
  • Why did you chose Berkeley Medical Center for residency?
    • One major reason I chose Berkeley Medical Center was because I prefer smaller programs. And I really enjoyed meeting previous residents and pharmacists from Berkeley Medical Center during info sessions and during my interview with Berkeley.
  • What are some of your career goals following PGY-1?
    • After PGY-1, I would love to work in in-patient settings for another 3-4 years before I pursue a PGY-2 training in pediatrics or infection disease.
  • What you enjoy doing for fun?
    • I like cooking and listening to music.

    • Infectious Disease, Oncology, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care
  • Why did you chose Berkeley Medical Center for residency?
    • I chose Berkeley Medical Center for residency because of the location, size of facility, teaching certificate opportunity, residency elective opportunities (i.e. outpatient oncology, emergency medicine, pediatrics, outpatient HIV), and the welcoming pharmacy staff.
  • What are some of your career goals following PGY-1?
    • After PGY-1, I would love to work as a clinical pharmacist in a medium sized hospital and precept pharmacy students
  • What you enjoy doing for fun?
    • I like walking and playing with my English bulldog, Atlas, spending time with friends and family.
