Tendyne Mitral Valve Replacement Clinical Trials

The WVU Heart and Vascular Institute is one of only six centers nationwide now participating in early clinical trials of the Tendyne Mitral Valve System, a mitral valve replacement suitable for patients considered too high-risk for conventional mitral valve surgeries. Vinay Badhwar, MD, WVU HVI executive chair, provides a brief overview of the procedure here.

Vinay Badhwar, MD, FACS, FACC, is a board-certified surgeon whose clinical interests include cardiothoracic surgery and cardiovascular surgery. Dr. Badhwar has completed clinical fellowships in cardiac and cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Michigan, the University of Ottawa, and McGill University.
