Direct Access Laboratory Testing
Direct Access Testing, also known as direct-to-consumer and patient-directed testing, allows individuals to choose which laboratory tests they would like from a limited menu. Payment (cash, check, or credit card) is required at the time of testing as insurance will not be billed. No physician consultation is necessary, but the consumer/patient is responsible for any follow-up with their clinician.
This service is available to adults 18 years and older.

Receiving Your Results
Access your lab results online with a MyWVUChart account. MyWVUChart is a free, easy, and secure way to view your health information. If you have ever been seen by a physician at WVU Medicine, you are most likely already registered in our system. If not, you can sign up at the same time you register for your lab work. Your results will show up in MyWVUChart as soon as they are completed, most often within 4 to 6 hours of being drawn.
If there is any need for follow up with a physician to discuss your results, WVU Medicine will be glad to set up an appointment.
Please call 855-WVU-CARE (988-2273).
