Lung Cancer

Day: Fourth Tuesday of each month

This group is hosted by the WVU Cancer Institute, in conjunction with the Lung Cancer Alliance, and offers support for lung cancer patients and caregivers.

Survivors Club

Day: Second Wednesday of each month
Time: 6 – 7:30 pm

Patients with any cancer diagnosis and their caregivers are welcome in this social and supportive group. (A caregiver is any unpaid individual outside the clinic setting who helps cancer survivors cope with their disease.) Dinner is provided.

Look Good, Feel Better

Day: First Monday, every other month
Time: 5 – 6:30 pm

Offered in conjunction with the American Cancer Society, this group is for women who will go through or have gone through some form of treatment. The class is led by locally-trained cosmetologists who are volunteers through the ACS. Each participant receives a make-up/skin care kit valued at $200. The intent is to help women manage treatment-related side effects and learn how to care for their skin. The class is offered monthly in Monongalia County; MBRCC alternates months with Mon General Hospital. The session through MBRCC meets from 5 – 6:30 PM on the first Monday every other month in the Cancer Center conference room, located on the ground floor.  Registration is required.

Caregivers Support Group

Day: First and third Mondays of the month

While geared toward caregivers who are staying in Morgantown in order to be with a patient who’s receiving extended treatment, all caregivers are welcome.

Post-Transplant Group

Day: Third Friday of each month

This group is open to anyone who has been treated with a stem cell, bone marrow, or cord transplant. Light refreshments are served.
