MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Summertime bumps and scrapes are all too common, and 85 degree days see their share of swimmer’s ear and sinus infections. WVU Urgent Care's second Morgantown location opens at 8 a.m. tomorrow (Aug. 1) ready to take care of those unwelcome summer surprises.
Located on West Virginia University's Evansdale campus across from the WVU Student Rec Center, the new WVU Urgent Care combines world-class care with walk-in convenience.
“When someone needs to get treatment for a minor illness or injury, a quick visit to WVU Urgent Care is a convenient alternative to waiting in a busy emergency department,” Carmen Burrell, D.O., WVU Urgent Care director, said. “Features like our on-site lab and X-ray help our experienced team move patients through their visit as quickly as possible, all while staying networked with the full range of WVU Healthcare services and specialties.”
WVU Urgent Care is the fast and convenient choice for patients who need immediate medical attention but do not have a life-threatening situation that requires an emergency room visit. The new Evansdale location is open daily, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It is located at 390 Birch St., on the ground level of the new WVU Health and Education Building. WVU Healthcare will also be operating and managing WVU Student Health Services there.
Travel medicine services are also available for globetrotters planning upcoming trips, including recommended vaccinations not commonly available, such as yellow fever and typhoid. Travelers are asked to make appointments for these visits by calling 304-285-7204.
Patients suffering from strains and sprains, fractures, wounds requiring stitches, respiratory infections, and much more can find relief with no appointment needed at either the Evansdale location or the existing WVU Urgent Care facility at Suncrest Towne Centre. Patient parking is available at the door for both locations.
