St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary accepting applications for scholarships

BUCKHANNON, W.VA. - The St.Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary is accepting applications for scholarships for Upshur County students for the fall academic year. Scholarships will be awarded to students who are planning on pursuing a career in a medical field.

Qualifications for recipients include: residency in Upshur County; high school graduate or equivalent GED; enrollment in a healthcare career school requiring a license or certificate; and a 3.5 GPA to qualify for consideration. Previous academic achievements, leadership character, and financial need are considered.

Funding for the scholarship is made possible by the Auxiliary’s Life and Memorial Members Fund, the gift shop, memorial donations for friends and family, and contributions from the community.

Applications are available at the information desk in the hospital’s main lobby or at the guidance office of Buckhannon-Upshur High School. Applications are due no later than May 1, 2018, and should be submitted to the Auxiliary Scholarship Chairman, c/o St. Joseph’s Hospital, One Amalia Drive, Buckhannon, WV,  26201 or the guidance office at Buckhannon-Upshur High School.
