Southwestern Energy raises $130,000 for WVU Medicine Children’s

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Southwestern Energy (SWN) sponsored the 2015 Southwestern Energy Charity Golf Tournament to benefit WVU Medicine Children’s on August 27 at Stonewall Resort in Roanoke.

Fifty-eight teams competed to show their support for the sick and injured children at WVU Children’s. Through the generosity of the participants and sponsors, SWN was able to donate more than $130,000 to the hospital.

“WVU Medicine Children’s provides exceptional care to the communities in which we live and do business,” Derek Cutright, general manager of operations for SWN, said. “SWN is excited to host such an event and proud to be a part of the hospital’s miracle network. Southwestern Energy is committed to excellent corporate citizenship and will continue to contribute by being a partner, operator, employer, and neighbor of choice in West Virginia.”

Cheryl Jones, R.N., director of WVU Medicine Children’s, attended the event and was impressed by the generosity she saw.

“We are so grateful to Southwestern Energy for their efforts in support of our work here at WVU Medicine Children’s,” she said. “The generosity shown today will help us continue to provide top-quality care close to home for the children and families of West Virginia and beyond.”
