MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Children of all ages will be able to sit in, climb on and explore all types of vehicles during the fourth annual Morgantown Touch-A-Truck, which will be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 1 in the parking lot of the WVU Coliseum.
The event will feature new additions, including the MountainLine Trolley, which children can ride to go see a helicopter and race car. Other familiar headlights and horns, such as army vehicles, fire trucks, cranes and a K-9 unit will also be on hand. All proceeds from the event will support programs at the West Virginia University Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center.
“We love seeing the joy and excitement this event brings to children, and we hope that when families leave they have had a great time together,” Leah Darr, one of the event’s organizers, said.
This year’s event has also attracted new vendors, such as the Kona Ice Truck, and new companies, including Hunter Truck Sales and the American Trucking Association.
“All of the vehicle operators and vendors donate their time and energy to support Touch-A-Truck, and we are very grateful that they want to support programs that battle cancer daily,” Darr said.
Admission is $5 per person. Since 2010, the Morgantown Touch-A-Truck has raised nearly $21,000 to help local families fight cancer.
