HOSPICE

Hospice Volunteers

People are more than their illnesses, and WVU Medicine Hospice is focused on helping patients, caregivers, and staff achieve what matters most at the end of life, allowing people to live with as much dignity and comfort as possible.

Volunteers are at the heart of our Hospice service. By giving your time, you are helping WVU Medicine Hospice provide high quality care to patients in their greatest hour of need.

There are two ways to volunteer your time – indirect opportunities, such as providing office assistance, crafting, and making phone calls, and direct opportunities, such as providing companionship visits and helping with special events.

Volunteers are required to be trained at a time that’s convenient for them. They do not provide hands-on patient care.
