Cardiology and Vascular Fellowships

Cardiology at WVU also offers a wealth of surgical procedures for adults and children. Our comprehensive program includes preventative clinics and rehabilitation services for all ages. As the region’s most prestigious academic medical center, West Virginia University is committed to training future cardiologists in expert care practices. WVU heart physicians perform as many as 4,300 procedures a year and are the most experience in the region. We are dedicated to providing the best care in cooperation with our patients’ physicians.


Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship

This three-year, ACGME-approved fellowship positions graduates to become leaders in the field of cardiovascular disease and provides excellent training and experience in the following areas:

  • Clinical
  • Electrocardiography
  • Stress Testing
  • Echocardiography
  • Cardiac catheterization
  • Clinical electrophysiology
  • Research

Interventional Cardiology Fellowship

This ACGME-approved fellowship prepares physicians to function at a high level of clinical performance in interventional cardiology, including the development of both the appropriate clinical judgment in selecting patients for cardiac interventional procedures and the high-level of technical skills needed to perform them. Vascular Surgery Fellowship

This two-year fellowship program teaches surgery trainees the latest surgical techniques that will make them high-performing open and endovascular surgeons. The program also provides endovascular interventional experience and clinical noninvasive vascular laboratory education, as well as operative experience on how to treat all types of vascular conditions, including aortic disease, aneurysms, and traumatic vascular injuries.
