ASE Foundation and WVU Heart & Vascular Institute CHOICE 2018

Community Health Outreach Imaging with Cardiovascular Examinations

Date: October 20, 2018
Locations: Morgantown, Fairmont, Bridgeport, Elkins

The American Society of Echocardiography (ASE), in partnership with the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute, will be providing a FREE one-day cardiovascular screening and diagnostic examination event that will take place across four clinical sites in the greater Morgantown, West Virginia area.

At each of the four examination sites, a healthcare team will provide a free health exam, including a point-of-care ultrasound examination under the supervision of ASE and WVU experts. Patients who merit a full ultrasound examination will undergo a comprehensive exam with additional point-of-care tests as needed provided free of cost by the ASE team.

Patients with cardiac symptoms or who are interested in a second opinion will be connected to WVU Medicine for further consultation and follow-up care.

Advances in Cardiovascular Medicine

Date: Saturday, December 1 – Sunday, December 2, 2018
Location: Bruce McClymonds Conference Room, Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV

The WVU Heart and Vascular Institute is proud to present the inaugural Advances in Cardiovascular Medicine conference presented by national leaders in contemporary cardiology. This conference has been designed for physicians who have interest in cardiovascular medicine, including specialists in interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure, electrophysiology and imaging diagnostics, as well as fellows, residents, and other healthcare professionals interested in cardiology related diseases and treatments.

During the two-day event there will be keynote presentations followed by case presentations and panel discussions. The focus will be on integrating multidisciplinary teams for optimizing patient-centered therapies. There will also be opportunities to meet with exhibiting vendors and research groups who are helping provide improved treatment options. There will also be networking opportunities including a technology exhibit where the latest diagnostic algorithms and therapies will be displayed.

Women Love Your Heart

The WVU Heart and Vascular Institute hosts this annual event which offers free health screenings to the public, along with personal fitness instruction and one-on-one nutrition and pharmacy consultations. Screenings include: Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Glucose, Body Mass Index, and EKG. The event is also co-hosted by the WVU Extension Service and the WVU Center of Excellence in Women’s Health. The event is held annually at the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute, 1 Medical Center Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505.
