Top Advances in Cardiovascular Medicine

The WVU Heart and Vascular Institute is proud to present the inaugural Top Advances in Cardiovascular Medicine conference.

This conference has been designed for physicians who specialize in interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure, electrophysiology and imaging diagnostics, as well as fellows, residents, and other healthcare professionals interested in cardiology related diseases and treatments. Lecture format and case presentations will provide the attendee with take-home strategies for the improved evaluation and treatment of patients. There will also be opportunities to meet with exhibiting vendors and research groups who are helping provide improved treatment options.

Women Love Your Heart

The WVU Heart and Vascular Institute hosts this annual event which offers free health screenings to the public, along with personal fitness instruction and one-on-one nutrition and pharmacy consultations. Screenings include: Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Glucose, Body Mass Index, and EKG. The event is also co-hosted by the WVU Extension Service and the WVU Center of Excellence in Women’s Health. The event is held annually at the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute, 1 Medical Center Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505.

ASE Foundation and WVU Heart & Vascular Institute CHOICE 2018

Community Health Outreach Imaging with Cardiovascular Examinations

The ASE Foundation, in partnership with the Heart and Vascular Institute at West Virginia University will be providing a one-day cardiovascular screening and diagnostic triage event that will take place across four clinical sites in the greater Morgantown, West Virginia area over the weekend of October 19-21, 2018.

Locations: Morgantown, Fairmont, Bridgeport, Elkins

At each site a primary healthcare team will provide a free health exam to all patients, including a point-of-care ultrasound examination under supervision and direct teaching and guidance of ASE experts. Patients who merit a full ultrasound examination will undergo a comprehensive exam with additional point-of-care tests as needed again under training provided by the ASE team. Patients identified with cardiac symptoms will be connected to the WVU clinic system for further consultation and follow-up care.
