Thank you for interest in visiting and/or donating to the WVU Medicine Children’s Child Life Program.
Your generosity brings smiles to the faces of hospitalized children and their families. Please review our visitor and donation policies below. If you have questions, please contact us by phone at 304-598-4365 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Organizations or groups are welcome to arrange an activity for patients. The Child Life staff will coordinate a time for you to meet with the kids in the Activity Center.
Room-to-Room visits are allowed at the discretion of the Child Life staff.
Visits can be scheduled any day of the week for two-hour periods of time, provided a Child Life staff person is available to supervise.
Visitors must be at least 16 years old to come on the unit. All visitors must sign a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) form. Visitors under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian signature.
Click to download the HIPAA form.
All donations come through the Child Life Program.
All donations must be new items.
NOTE: Homemade items, such as blankets and hats, must be made with new materials, not smell, or have pet dander on them.
Donations are accepted Monday, Thursday, and Friday 9:30 am – 5 pm or as scheduled on the weekends.
Please call or e-mail Child Life in advance to schedule your donation. A Child Life staff member will meet you at the front entrance of the hospital, under the canopy, to collect your donation.
