The Cure Kids Cancer Fund (formerly the Pediatric Cancer Care and Research Fund) was created in 1991 to raise money to benefit patients in the pediatric hematology and oncology program at WVU Medicine Children’s. The Fund advances the mission pediatric hematology and oncology team’s mission of providing research and support services that enhance the quality of life for our patients and their families during treatment and after.

Since the inception of the Cure Kids Cancer Fund, the sale of Cards of Hope has served as the Fund’s main funding source, ensuring patients are provided state-of-the-art medical care, as well as psychological and social support for them and their families.

A committee reviews all requests for disbursement of funds, which are used for special events like holiday parties, camps, activities/crafts; educational and resource materials; and services to support the care of patients while they are in clinic or during hospitalizations, such as drinks for patients in clinic and new patient handbooks.
