Physicians from many specialties work together to create an individualized care plan. Treatments often combine the use of medical, surgical, and radiological interventions to provide the highest level of patient care. You may be sent to experts from these specialties:

  • Neurosurgery
  • Neuropsychology
  • Neurology
  • Rehabilitation Medicine
  • Radiation Oncology
  • Neuropathology
  • Neuroradiology

Additionally, your physicians may order MRI, CT, and PET scans to determine the size, location, and stage of your brain tumor. A biopsy may be required to determine if the tumor is cancerous or benign. Tumor profiling may be performed on the sample to determine the genetic and molecular structure to guide the course of treatment. Some diagnoses may not be possible without surgical intervention.
