Current Hospital Paid Time Off Benefits

The purpose of Paid Time Off is to provide employees with flexible paid time off from work that can be used for such needs as vacation, personal or family illness, doctor appointments, school, volunteerism, and other activities of the employee’s choice.

Depending on facility the current paid time off benefits may include holidays, floating holidays, paid time off,  or personal days.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

Regular full-time and part-time employees are eligible for paid time off.   PTO accruals are based on the number of hours paid each pay period.
You must be paid for at least 32 qualifying hours in a pay period.
You will accrue the PTO immediately and will have the ability to use after you successfully complete your probationary period

Holidays

Camden Clark Medical Center recognizes the following (6) holidays. All full-time and part-time employees regularly scheduled to work at least forty (40) hours per pay period are eligible to receive paid holidays.

Floating Holidays

Camden Clark provides(2) floating holidays.
One floating holiday (8) hours for full-time employees and 4 hours for regular part-time employees) will be loaded on January 1st of each year.  The second floating holiday will be loaded on July 1st each year.
If you are hired after July 1st, you will be eligible for a floating holiday on January 1st of the following year.  You will have until December 31st of each year to use the floating holiday hours.

Jefferson Medical Center

Annual Paid Leave (APL)

Regular full-time and part-time employees are eligible for APL. APL accruals are based on the number of hours paid each pay period.  You must be paid for at least 32 qualifying hours in a pay period to receive the APL accrual.
You will accrue the APL immediately and will have the ability to use after successful completion of your probationary period.

Potomac Valley Hospital provided full-time employees 2 personal days per year. One days is credited on January 1 and one day is credited on July 1.  Both days must be used by December 31.

Maximum Accrual Guidelines
You can accrue up to 2 times the annual accrual.  Cash out of vacation time over 2 times the annual accrual are made in exceptional circumstances and must be approved.  If no exceptional circumstance exists the vacation accrual will stop until your vacation balance falls under the 2 times annual accrual

Personal Days

Full-time and part-time associates (P1, P2, P3, and P4) are eligible for personal days. The personal days will be credited to the associate’s balances at the beginning of each calendar year. United Hospital Center will provide 2 personal days per year to full-time associates.  Part-time associates will receive pro-rated benefit by hours paid.

During the first calendar year of employment, Associates will be eligible to receive either one or two personal days, depending on the date they complete their 90 days probationary/introductory period

  • Associates completing probationary/introductory period on or before June 30 will receive 2 personal days between the date they complete probationary status and December 31
  • Associates completing their probationary/introductory period after June 30 will receive 1 personal day between the day they complete the probationary status and December 31

United Hospital Center recognizes the following (7) holidays. Full time Associates are credited 8 holiday hours 45 days prior to each of these holidays. Part -time Associates are credited pro-rated holiday hours 45 days prior to each of these holidays based on their part-time status.   Probationary/introductory Associates are not eligible for holiday pay during their probationary/introductory period.

Sick leave
Full-time and part-time regularly scheduled employees are eligible for sick leave.

Elimination Period

Sick leave can be used after 16 hours continuous hours off work due to illness.

If PDO is not available you will not receive pay during the elimination period.

For inpatient admissions, the elimination period will be waived and STD benefits will begin immediately. This includes admissions for birth of a child.

For invasive procedures requiring the use of moderate sedation, the elimination period will be waived for any outpatient procedures deemed appropriate according to medical documentation.

Continuation of STD after the 5th day off requires approval by UNUM.

Sick Leave Benefit

Employer paid benefit

You will accrue 12 days per year.

Part-time employees will be pro-rated based on their FTE status.
